BMCE 2026 and Image Today Asia to Begin at Chennai Trade Centre from July 17

Chennai: Chennai is set to host the Broadcast Media Cinema Expo (BMCE) 2026 from July 17 to 19 at the Chennai Trade Centre, bringing together professionals from the broadcast, cinema, OTT, photography, videography and content creation industries.

The event, formerly known as Cinema Today, is dedicated to the broadcast, cinema, production, post-production and OTT sectors. It will be held alongside Image Today Asia, a trade exhibition focused on photography, videography, digital imaging and studio equipment. This year marks the 26th edition of Image Today Asia.

South India is one of India’s major media and entertainment hubs, with three of the country’s four largest film industries, nearly 4,600 cinema screens and more than 180 television channels. The exhibition aims to provide a platform for broadcasters, filmmakers, production houses, technology companies and content creators to connect and explore the latest developments in the industry.

The three-day event is expected to feature over 60 exhibitors and attract 3,000 to 5,000 trade visitors. Visitors can explore new technologies related to broadcasting, cinema, OTT platforms and digital content creation through exhibitions, live demonstrations, networking sessions and conference programmes.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by L. Murugan, Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs.

Guests of Honour include Manoj Paramahamsa, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Government M.G.R. Film & Television Institute, cinematographers R. Rathnavelu, ISC and P. C. Sreeram, ISC, and A. Karthik Raaja, President of the Southern India Cinematographers Association (SICA).

Among the exhibitors at BMCE are Benchmark Broadcast, Canon, Disk Archive, Evertz, Grass Valley, Horizon Broadcast, Monolith, Nanlite and RED Digital Cinema.

The co-located Image Today Asia exhibition will feature more than 150 exhibitors, including Sony, Fujifilm, Nikon, Tamron, Sigma, Godox, SmallRig, Lexar and SanDisk.

As part of the event, the Tamil Nadu Photo & Videographers Association will honour more than 60 industry veterans. Visitors can also participate in free camera and lens service camps, experience the latest photography and videography equipment, and attend workshops, live demonstrations and fashion shows scheduled across all three days.

The exhibition is expected to attract broadcasters, filmmakers, cinematographers, rental companies, OTT platforms, technology providers and content creators from across the region, making it one of the major media and imaging industry events to be held in Chennai this year.
