Rajalakshmi Engineering College Students Create World Record at AI NEXUS 2026

Chennai: Chennai’s Rajalakshmi Engineering College has entered the record books by creating a new world record during AI NEXUS 2026, where 1,000 students built 1,000 Agentic AI Bots in just two hours.

The achievement was made during the “Agentic AI Botathon 1000”, with each student independently designing and developing a fully functional AI bot showcasing autonomous reasoning, intelligent decision-making, workflow automation and real-world problem-solving capabilities.

The event was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Minister for Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology & Digital Services, Dr. Kumar R. The summit was attended by Chairperson Dr. Thangam Meganathan, Principal Dr. S. N. Murugesan, industry experts, academicians and students.

The World Record Union officially recognised the achievement after verifying that all international guidelines and documentation requirements had been fulfilled. The official World Record Citation was presented to Rajalakshmi Engineering College during the event.

Apart from the record-setting attempt, AI NEXUS 2026 featured several AI-focused events including an AI Innovation Expo, CyberShield AI Challenge, AI Conclave, Animate with AI 2026, AI Marketing ShowDown, and a Faculty Development Programme on AI in Academia.

The summit highlighted Chennai’s growing role in Artificial Intelligence education and innovation while providing students with practical exposure to emerging AI technologies.
