Casagrand International School Hosts Inaugural CMUN 2026; Over 200 Students Participate
Chennai: Casagrand International School successfully hosted the inaugural edition of Casagrand Model United Nations (CMUN) 2026, bringing together more than 200 student delegates from leading schools across Chennai to engage in discussions on pressing global issues.
The conference concluded with an awards ceremony recognising students who demonstrated excellence in diplomacy, leadership, public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking. The awards honoured participants who displayed confidence, collaboration, and maturity while addressing complex global challenges.
During the conference, student delegates represented over 30 countries and deliberated on key international issues, presenting draft resolutions focused on global cooperation, sustainable development, and world peace. The discussions also highlighted the importance of multilateral collaboration, informed policymaking, and shared global responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Dorathy Thomas, Principal of Casagrand International School, said the institution believes education should prepare students not only for examinations but also for life. She noted that CMUN is an important initiative aimed at nurturing confident communicators, future leaders, and globally aware citizens capable of addressing real-world challenges through dialogue and collaboration.
The event’s special guest, renowned quizmaster Abhishek Bharathkumar, popularly known as Quiz Master AB, interacted with students through engaging quizzes and knowledge-based activities, creating an energetic and memorable learning experience for participants.
Designed as a simulation of the United Nations, CMUN 2026 provided students with a platform to develop essential 21st-century skills, including communication, leadership, teamwork, negotiation, critical thinking, and global awareness. The conference also encouraged students to apply classroom learning to real-world scenarios, reinforcing Casagrand International School’s commitment to holistic education and future-ready learning.
