Logitech, Aspire For Her Set Guinness World Record for Women-Only Generative AI Hackathon in Chennai
Chennai: Logitech, in partnership with Aspire For Her, has secured a new Guinness World Record title for the largest women-only Generative AI hackathon held across multiple venues, as part of the #WomenWhoMaster initiative.
The nationwide hackathon recorded nearly 1,29,000 registrations from across India, prompting Guinness World Records to create a new award category titled “Largest Women-Only Generative AI Hackathon (Multiple Venues).”
The initiative focused on Generative AI, low-code development and machine learning, with participants receiving opportunities for mentorship and exposure to industry pathways.
112 Finalists Compete in Chennai
The Grand Finale was held at Logitech’s Chennai headquarters, where 112 finalists competed after being selected from more than 15,000 colleges across 5,000+ cities.
Kritika Yadav of Ramdeobaba University, Nagpur, won the national title for HerFinance, an AI-powered financial resilience companion designed to help women understand their finances, assess risks and make informed financial decisions.
Priti Kumari Pandey of Parul Institute of Engineering and Technology, Vadodara, was the first runner-up for RE – From Skills to Employment, an AI-powered career companion focused on skills assessment, career pathways and employment readiness.
Mridul Singh Soam of GL Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Delhi NCR, secured the second runner-up position for KarigarSetu, an AI-powered venture navigator designed to support women artisans in growing their businesses by linking marketing decisions with sales and transaction data.
The winners received prize money and Certificates of Championship. Participants were also given the recently launched MX Keypad, a programmable control device for developers working with AI coding tools.
Participation from Smaller Cities
More than 60% of the registrations came from Tier 2, Tier 3 and emerging cities, according to the organisers.
The hackathon began with an online assessment in which more than 26,000 women participated. A total of 2,800 participants then advanced to zonal rounds conducted simultaneously across eight regional hubs.
The zonal rounds were held in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Noida, Pune, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, before the 112 finalists progressed to the Chennai finale.
Speaking at the Grand Finale, Grace Lokako, Global Marketing Manager, MX at Logitech, said the participation numbers reflected growing interest among women in developing AI-based solutions.
Polina Anokhina, IMEA Region Director at Logitech, said supporting women in STEM was important for developing an inclusive technology ecosystem and highlighted the initiative’s focus on practical capabilities and access to opportunities in AI.
National winner Kritika Yadav said the hackathon gave her team an opportunity to develop a solution addressing financial challenges faced by women. She said HerFinance was designed to help women understand their finances, evaluate risks and make informed decisions.
The initiative also included opportunities for participants to gain practical exposure to Generative AI, interact with mentors and industry leaders, and explore career opportunities within the technology sector.
