Rajalakshmi Engineering College’s 25th Graduation Day Held; 1,968 Students Receive Degrees
Chennai: Rajalakshmi Engineering College held its 25th Graduation Day in Chennai on Sunday, with 1,968 students receiving degrees across 26 programmes.
The graduating students included those from 17 undergraduate and nine postgraduate programmes. The ceremony also recognised 10 PhD graduates and 83 students with gold medals for their academic achievements.
The event was attended by students, parents, faculty members, college management and well-wishers at the Rajalakshmi Engineering College auditorium.
J.C.D. Prabhakar, Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, was the chief guest and delivered the graduation address. Abhay Meghanathan, Vice Chairman, Rajalakshmi Group, presided over the ceremony.
Speaker Urges Graduates to Continue Learning
Addressing the graduates, J.C.D. Prabhakar said completing a degree should be considered the beginning of a new phase involving continuous learning and greater responsibility.
He urged the students to use their technical knowledge and skills to contribute to society while developing qualities such as integrity, adaptability, empathy and innovation.
He also highlighted the need for graduates to adapt to rapid technological changes and remain willing to learn, unlearn and relearn throughout their professional careers.
Prabhakar said professional success should not be measured only by positions or status, but also by the positive impact individuals create through their knowledge and actions.
1,968 Students Complete Their Courses
Dr. S.N. Murugesan, Principal of Rajalakshmi Engineering College, said the graduating batch reflected years of academic work and perseverance.
With 1,968 students graduating from 26 programmes, the ceremony marked an important transition for students moving towards careers, higher education, research and entrepreneurship.
He also acknowledged the contribution of parents and faculty members in supporting the students throughout their academic journey.

Speaking about the occasion, Abhay Meghanathan said the 25th Graduation Day reflected the combined efforts of students, parents, teachers and the institution.
He said the college would continue to focus on preparing students to respond to changing professional and technological requirements.
