Chennai Comic Con 2025 Kicks Off with a Bang, Showcasing Cosplay, Gaming, and Geek Culture

Chennai: The 2nd edition of Maruti Suzuki Arena Chennai Comic Con powered by Crunchyroll commenced on February 8, 2025, at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. The two-day event brought together global and national artists, cosplay enthusiasts, and fans for a celebration of pop culture.

Day one of the event witnessed a special book launch about the legacy of U.VE. Swaminatha Iyer, followed by sessions with Brazilian artists Eduardo Ferigato and Marcelo Costa. The stage also saw performances by local comedians Vivek Muralidharan and Vikram Arul Vidyapathi, and an electrifying beatbox performance by Desible.

The experience zones were a major draw, with crowds flocking to booths by Marvel Studios, DC Studios, Universal Pictures, and DreamWorks Animation. The Nodwin Gaming Arena offered immersive gaming experiences, including a Valorant zone by Riot Games India and a PlayStation zone.

Day two of the event promises to be just as exciting, with a special session by New York Times best-selling artist Kyle Higgins and celebrated illustrator Kelly McMahon. The stage performances will include Hysterical Comedy Collaborative, Kannan Caricaturist, and standup comedy acts by Pilot Gomma – Aircrash and Rohan Joshi and Sahil Shah.

The event will conclude on February 9, 2025, with the Indian Championship of Cosplay 2025, where Chennai’s finest cosplayers will battle it out to represent the city.
