Kattankulathur: Tamilisai Soundararajan on Friday emphasised that effective communication among nations is key to resolving global conflicts, while addressing the inaugural session of SRM SOLMUN’26 at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST).
“Nations that communicate effectively can resolve even the most complex conflicts. Dialogue builds understanding and trust,” she said, stressing the need for continuous engagement in a world marked by differences.
The Model United Nations conference, organised by the SRM School of Law under the theme “Forge. Negotiate. Lead.”, brought together students to deliberate on global issues, diplomacy, and policy-making.
Highlighting the principles of leadership, Tamilisai said it must be rooted in fairness, inclusivity, and responsibility, ensuring equal care and protection for all citizens. She also noted India’s role in addressing global challenges with resilience and stability.
Vice-Chancellor Muthamizhchelvan C underlined the importance of ethical awareness and adaptability in a rapidly changing world. He urged students to focus on communication and practical exposure, stating that platforms like MUN help build confidence and real-world skills.
Dean P. Sree Sudha said such initiatives play a vital role in enhancing awareness of global dynamics and fostering dialogue-based solutions.
The conference, organised by Forum Justitia, witnessed participation from students across disciplines and will feature debates and discussions aimed at promoting collaborative problem-solving and leadership skills.
