SRMIST Celebrates 14th Research Day and 6th Dr. Paarivendhar Research Colloquium

Chennai: The SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, successfully held its 14th Research Day and the 6th Dr. Paarivendhar Research Colloquium (DPRC 2024). The event was graced by Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar, Founder Chancellor, SRMIST, and Prof. Shekhar C. Mande, Professor at Savitribai Phule Pune University and Former Director General of CSIR, India.

The event recognized exceptional research efforts by students and faculty, with gold medals and certificates awarded to 47 students and 32 faculty members. Silver medals and certificates were presented to 51 students and 4 faculty members. Additionally, 43 faculty members who published their work in Nature-indexed journals were felicitated with mementos and certificates.

Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar emphasized the importance of research in transforming India into a top economy, while Prof. Shekhar C. Mande highlighted the need to nurture young researchers and address the shortage of researchers across domains.

The colloquium, inaugurated by Prof. Shekhar C. Mande, will continue until April 23, 2025, featuring research presentations and interdisciplinary discussions. The event reinforces SRMIST’s dedication to fostering a thriving research culture and academic excellence.
