SRM Institute of Hotel Management Students and Alumni Set Triumph World Record for Most Vegan Burgers Prepared

Chennai: SRM Institute of Hotel Management (SRM IHM) has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a world record for preparing the highest number of vegan burgers. As part of the institute’s Alumni Day celebrations, students and alumni successfully crafted 3,688 vegan burgers in just 1.55 seconds, earning a place in the Triumph World Records.

This impressive achievement showcased the culinary expertise of over 350 students and alumni, who prepared healthy Millet Vegan Burgers using freshly made burger buns and vegan patties. In line with the ‘No Food Waste’ concept, all the assembled burgers were distributed to needy individuals on the same day.

The Alumni Day event saw the participation of over 100 alumni, who shared their experiences and fond memories with current students. Chef Y. B. Mathur, Senior Executive Chef at ITC Hotels, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, celebrating the spirit of innovation and community service.

SRMIST’s Vice Chancellor Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Registrar Dr. S. Ponnusamy, Director (IHM) Dr. D. Antony Ashok Kumar, and Vice Principal (IHM) Ms. J. Lalitha Shri were also present at the event.
