Prabhu Deva Dazzles at RECHARGE 2026 Day 2 in Chennai
Chennai: Rajalakshmi Engineering College witnessed an electrifying second day of its cultural fest ‘RECHARGE 2026’, headlined by noted choreographer-actor Prabhu Deva.
The highlight of the evening was a rare on-stage collaboration where Prabhu Deva performed alongside students, faculty members, and the college dance team “Rugged”, whom he had mentored over the past month. The performance drew enthusiastic response from the audience.
The event also featured appearances by actors and performers including Nikki Galrani, Sayyeshaa, Shriya Saran, Yashika Anand, Saanvee Meghana, Anukeerthi Vyas, and Samyuktha Shan.
The cultural fest had opened on a high note on Day 1 with a live performance by music composer A. R. Rahman, marking his first-ever performance on a college campus. The inaugural day reportedly drew over 18,000 students and featured performances by singers Shweta Mohan, Haricharan, Blaaze, and A. R. Ameen, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman Abhay Meganathan said the event marked a significant milestone for college culturals in the country, reflecting the institution’s commitment to providing large-scale platforms for students. Executive Director Tejshree Abhay Meganathan noted that such initiatives help nurture creativity and overall development among students.
With strong participation and high-profile performances, RECHARGE 2026 has set a new benchmark for college cultural festivals in terms of scale and engagement.
